IFUT and the INTO this week co-hosted the annual meeting of the British and Irish Group of Teacher Unions (BIGTU) to discuss common issues impacting the sector in both countries such as pay and conditions of teachers and lecturers, AI in education, assessment, work intensification, the geopolitical climate, and the importance of democracy in education.
IFUT General Secretary Frank Jones, among fellow union presidents and general secretaries, also heard reports from Education International and the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE).
