Dear all,
In a study conducted by the Stop-TTIP ECI people in Berlin it was concluded that referendums on TTIP/CETA are legally possible in 14 countries, but that in only 3 countries (Hungary, Lithuania and Netherlands) the citizens can trigger a referendum.
In the Netherlands, a number of NGO's have begun the preparation for a citizen-initiated referendum on TTIP / CETA (see www.ttip-referendum.nl).
But who knows more about the situation in other countries? Is there any real chance anywhere that a referendum could be held? Are there NGO's in Hungary or Lithuania who are willing and able to organize such a referendum? Or politicans pushing for a referendum elsewhere?
If you know about something, I'm would be very happy with a detailed account (am writing a chapter about this for a Dutch language book on TTIP).
many thanks
