TTIP Lists purpose - where to send what? Who is the the lists?

Information about TTIP lists

TTIP
------

  • us-eu-ttip is for general information sharing relevant in a transatlantic context
    • It is an open list -> it is not a "safe list" to send strategic or confidential information. If you send invitations to this list, they can get forwarded to TTIP- proponents.
    • it has 405 subscribers from Europe, the US, and a few people from Canada
    • subscribers include campaigners from known organisations, individuals, people working in the European Parliament (EP), funders and a few journalists.
  • eu-ttip is for strategy and organisational issues relevant for European groups
    • To join it people need to be added by a moderator (now Martin or me). We have some control, but many people are on this list with personal email addresses. It is therefore not appropriate for confidential information
    • it has 265 subscribers from Europe
    • subscribers include campaigners, EP staff and funders
  • The ECI list is a very big list (over 700 people) with ECI supporters. The team has some control over who is on it, but also doesn't know every subscriber
  • The working group lists are generally small lists, with a strong control over who is on it and who is not. Check with the working group coordinators to know what their policy is.
  • There is a closed transatlantic coordination list

CETA
-------

  • The CETA google group (Canada-eu-ceta@googlegroups.com) is a totally open list, with public archives accessible with a simple search engine. It is not a good place to discuss strategy.
  • There is a small CETA strategy list, not closed but not very open either. Martin, Sujata and myself manage it, and we will need to know you to add you to the list - this has to stay a safe discussion space.
