IFUT seeks review of the Public Service Agreement due to rise in cost of living

IFUT representatives today confirmed they want to invoke the review clause of the Public Service Agreement ‘Building Momentum’ due to the substantial rise in the cost of living.

At a meeting of the ICTU Public Services Committee today, IFUT and all other Unions organising in the public sector supported the call for a review.

According to IFUT General Secretary, Frank Jones, “Building Momentum is a two year agreement which runs from 2021 - 2022 which included a 1% pay increase in October of both years of the agreement.  IFUT members also secured a 1% increase as a general pay increase in February 2022.

“The value of these increases has been undermined by the rising inflation and this needs to be reviewed without delay.”
