IFUT Bursaries

To mark its fiftieth anniversary, the Irish Federation of University Teachers is pleased to announce the award of five student bursaries of €2,000 each.

ELIGIBILITY
The bursaries are open to students of any nationality currently registered for either undergraduate or postgraduate studies in any one of the seven universities in the Republic of Ireland and the eight other Higher Education Institutions where IFUT is represented.1

AIMS
The bursaries are intended to provide financial support for travel and research in connection with the applicant’s undergraduate or postgraduate studies and publications.

APPLICATIONS
Applicants are required, in the first instance, to register their interest by 31 December 2013, including the title of the proposed project and a description in not more than 300 words. Applicants will be required to give the name of an academic referee acquainted with the applicant and his/her work who can be contacted in regard to the application.

Students must submit evidence to support their application for a bursary. This can be in the form of an extended essay, scholarly article, IT or audio-visual presentation. The completed submission, which can be sent by post (IFUT, 11 Merrion Square, Dublin 2) or email attachment, must be received by 1 March 2014.

AWARD
Entries will be judged by an adjudication panel appointed by IFUT.
The decision of the adjudication panel will be final and the successful candidates will be required to submit brief reports on their completed projects.
