Concept proposal plege campaign: We need your feedback!

Dear friends,

as most of you might be aware, after finishing the 12 month signature collection for the self-organised ECI Stop TTIP, we decided to evaluate ideas how we could ensure that the explicit support of 3.3 million European citizens will eventually bring TTIP and CETA down. One of these ideas is a pledge campaign.

A Working Group with interested people representing some of the most active organisations from our campaign have discussed came up with the concept proposal for a pledge campaign you find in the attached document. At the same time, the campaign coordination office has been in intensive discussions with experienced programmers and campaigns that had experience with similar actions to make sure that the ideas in the concept are indeed realistic to implement. We are very happy about the amount of positive feedback we received so far.

When you read it, you will see: Our ambitions are high. We aim to open a new chapter of our campaign that should actually prevent the ratification of CETA (and then TTIP). As a part of this strategy we want to motivate citizens across Europe to engage with their representatives.

Now, the floor is yours! We want your comments, your questions, your suggestions. Don't forget: This is meant to be your campaign.

We are interested in all contributions - but we would also like to encourage you to discuss the concept within your national alliance and give us feedback on what you think would work in your country and what would not. This applies above all to the critical question whether to exclude some far right MEPs from the campaign tool and, if yes, in which form. In the concept you will already find some options proposed by the Working Group after intensive discussions. Another open question that is adressed in the text is how to formulate the pledge exactly and whether it is necessary to ask for a pledge right form the start.

Please try to send us your ideas and comments by January, 31, 2016.

Of course, we would kindly like to remind you, that this is an internal working document. Please do not circulate in a broader circle than necessary and do not make it publicly available.

Please find also attached the minutes of the last working group call.

Kind greetings and wonderful holidays,
Michael, Dániel and Steph

P.S.: Please find attached a paper on the updated structure of Stop TTIP.
