Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of all of the team here in Head Office I want to wish each of you a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

This year has been a challenging and exciting year for us.

Staff changes and the introduction of new technology and new systems of work haven’t distracted us from the real job, the need to represent and support our members in their place of work. 

We are almost at the finish line with respect to securing the full implementation of the recommendations contained within the Cush Report with the appointment of a dedicated Cush Adjudicator.  Nonetheless there still remains a responsibility on each and every one of us to try to ensure that every member entitled to a more stable and secure contract of employment is supported by IFUT.  We must continue to remind our HR Departments locally of their duty and responsibility to provide appropriate contracts in the first instance. 

In 2018, we will continue our work building further on gains achieved with particular focus on improving the situation for our Researcher members while ensuring that we continue to make advances for all members.

As with 2017,  IFUT has continued to grow and build on our successes with the support and hard work of the Executive Committee, Council Committee, Equality Committee and the newly formed Researcher Committee.   We in IFUT are very fortunate to have so many really dedicated and hardworking local representatives.  The organisation could not survive without your constant support and efforts.

IFUT Head Office will be closed from 1pm on the 20^th of December 2017 until 4 January 2018.

On behalf of all of us here in Head Office I wish to thank each and every one of you for your support during 2017 and we look forward to working with you in 2018.
